BCCI is likely to drag the duo of Karun Nair and Murali Vijay and may well seek an explanation from them about their comments on the “communication policy” of the selection committee. CoA will take 10 more days to prepare the status report based on the compliance certificate filed by state units.

Karun Nair stated that there was no conversation with anyone in the selection panel or the management about the lack of chance for him to play in the team. The Karnataka player was in the squad for the Test matches on the England tour that India lost 1-4 but did not get the chance to play. Murali Vijay, after a couple of days, also revealed the same and stated that he wasn't communicated and didn't know where he stands at the moment as far as the national team selection goes.

However, MSK Prasad clearly stated that they were in the loop and they were given calls by the national selectors. The senior BCCI officials are unhappy hearing the statements from the duo though and the BCCI is processed to raise this issue meeting with CoA in Hyderabad.

"Vijay and Karun didn't exactly do the right thing by speaking on selection policy. That is a breach of central contract. As per central contract, no player can speak about a just-concluded tour for 30 days. There is a COA meeting in Hyderabad on October 11 and this issue will be raised there," a senior BCCI official told PTI.

The CoA chief Vinod Rai spoke to media that has not done right by the players and denied the false actions of lack of communication from the selection committee.

"This is all rubbish. There has been no case of lack of communication from the selection committee. Our selection committee works independently. As far as players' (Vijay and Karun) statements are concerned, we have left it on selectors to decide about them," CoA chief Vinod Rai told media persons on the sidelines of the CoA meeting today.

"If Vijay wouldn't have been kept in the loop then he wouldn't have played county cricket for Essex. He is not speaking the truth," another official said.
