VIDEO | Faf du Plessis breaks the losing streak by bringing “specialist coin tosser” JP Duminy for toss

T20 cricket is all fun and frolic, but if the involving teams in the match happen to be South Africa and Zimbabwe, one hardly bothers by it. However, Faf du Plessis brought some fun to the game as he brought in JP Duminy to do the coin toss as he had lost the battle of the coin six in a row.

South Africa has taken the current Zimbabwe series as an experimental one to provide opportunities to their fringe players, but that hardly distorted the established order as the hosts are yet to lose a single game. And the way Zimbabwe were performing in the series, South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis was all but sure that the chopping and changing wouldn't do any harm in the inconsequential encounter.

However, if one thing that the visitors were edging their neighbours ahead was the toss as du Plessis had already lost six tosses across formats. So, in order to change the fortunes, Faf asked JP Duminy – who wasn't in the playing XI – to do the coin toss formality and funnily, he won the toss as well.

"They say the strength of a captain is to know his weaknesses, so I brought in JP Duminy as a specialist coin-tosser," du Plessis said in the pre-game chat with the broadcasters.

Later on his Instagram, du Plessis wrote, "I love what I do, important to have some fun along the way as well, especially in t20 cricket!! Might have started something here..."
