BCCI ombudsman DK Jain has ordered KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya to give Rs. 1 lakh each to the widows of 10 martyrs of paramilitary forces for their comments against women in a chat show. The duo has also been asked to pay Rs 10 lakh to the fund created for the betterment of cricket for the blind.

After their misconduct during a chat show – Koffee with Karan – earlier this year, Pandya and Rahul have been asked to contribute Rs 20 lakh each to charity by the BCCI ombudsman DK Jain. The duo was suspended from competitive cricket after Pandya had made misogynistic comments during the show hosted by Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar.

According to PTI, the above-mentioned amount will go to the widows of 10 paramilitary constables who had lost their lives on duty and also to the find for the development for visually impaired cricketers in India.

The ombudsman has also mentioned in a report that if the players don’t deposit the amount in the next four weeks, the BCCI might subtract it from their match fees. Jain also noted that the cricketers missed out on their earnings from international matches as they were sent back during India’s tour Down Under in January.

After the decision of the ombudsman, the matter has now ended and there is no blockage for both of them to continue playing for the national team. Both of them have been picked up in the 15-man squad for the upcoming World Cup to be held in England and Wales from May 30.
