Cricket is a funny game in more than one sense, and while the cricketers' decision making is world-class 9/10 times, there's always that one 'brain-fade' moment every now and then. In one such moment today, Moeen Ali's horrendous misjudgment sent his off-stump crashing, gifting the Aussies a wicket.

After having a rather inauspicious outing on Day 2, all eyes were on Nathan Lyon on Day 3 on a pitch which still offered plenty for the spinners, as the Aussies took to the ground in hope of staging a comeback. After Pat Cummins removed Stokes within the first 45 minutes, there was a glimmer of hope for them, despite England having taken the lead.

The onus was then on Lyon to deliver after being brought back into the attack, and the off-spinner didn't disappoint, as he finally ended Rory Burns' resilience, inflicting an outside edge to keeper Tim Paine. In came Moeen Ali and all eyes were on the much-anticipated Ali-Lyon contest, with the Australian having famously dismissed the former seven times previously in Test Cricket.

After tickling the first ball away finely off his pads for a boundary, Ali defended the next three deliveries with caution, almost suggesting to Lyon that he was being intimidated by their past history. The 31-year-old offie was viciously spinning the ball away from the left-hander, and noticing this, Ali adjusted his technique accordingly, for the first four deliveries.

However, on his fifth ball, Ali had a moment to forget, as he completely misjudged the turn of the ball, shouldering arms to a straight delivery, which resulted in the ball crashing on to his off-stump. With the turn that he saw in the first four deliveries playing on the back of his mind, the southpaw expected another one to turn away from him, but to his dismay, went in with the angle, rattling his off-stump, leaving him looking extremely hideous.

The wicket also marks the 8th time Lyon has accounted for Ali's wicket, making the Englishman his own bunny.
