VIDEO | Commentators left in splits after Faf du Plessis helps Fakhar Zaman hit a boundary

After winning the toss and inviting Pakistan to bat first, South Africa was at the top of the game from the very beginning of the fifth ODI in Cape Town. Pakistan had lost the wickets of opener Imam-Ul-Haq and Babar Azam with only 64 runs on the board inside 13 overs. However, they had the other opener Zaman in the middle who tried hanging around at the crease to carry out the recovery work for the Men in Green. 

With senior pro Mohammed Hafeez at the other end, Zaman, on 48, was facing Willem Mulder in the 20th over of the Pakistani innings. Mulder bowled an overpitched delivery and the left-handed played an on-drive which went towards du Plessis who was stationed at mid-on. The South African skipper put in the dive to stop the ball but it went in vain.

He had deflected the ball with his right hand which made it even difficult for Imran Tahir who came in from mid-off to assist his skipper. Tahir overran on that occasion and then fell down trying to recover to stop the ball. The misfield allowed Zaman a boundary and eventually, the Pakistani opener completed his ninth half-century with that boundary as well. Commentator Mike Haysman was left in splits seeing Tahir tumbling on the field following his effort to recover after he overran while attempting to stop the ball.
