VIDEO | Colin Munro deceived by “hit-wicket” illusion as he starts walking back after wind dislodges bails

New Zealand started the innings brilliantly and disturbed Khaleel Ahmed’s lines and lengths from the word go. Khaleel was also guilty of bowling outside off against which Munro comfortably managed to hit him out of the park. The Rajasthan player needed a break from the same and that came in the fourth over, however, in a rather funny way. 

Munro was taking his stance in the fourth over after hitting Khaleel for two consecutive sixes, but once the bowler started his run-up, the umpire extended his right hand to stop him from bowling that delivery. While everyone was wondering what was happening, Munro was also surprised and when he saw the stump light started flashing, he started walking back towards the pavilion, thinking some part of his bat might have struck the stumps and he was dismissed.

However, the light came due to the eastward wind flow at the Westpac which resulted in the stumps being disturbed when Munro was in his stance. The leg-umpire signaled Munro the same and seeing that Munro was fully relieved. However, that created a rather funny atmosphere at Westpac as a how a batsman could even be confused at his bat touching the stumps.
