India Women’s squad announced for ODI series against England

The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has announced the ODI squad for the three-match ODI series against England Women. The series, which would be a part of the ICC Women’s Championship going on currently, would be played in Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and would start from February 22.

After a mixed result on their New Zealand tour where the Indian eves managed to win the ODI series 2-1 before going down two matches in the three-match T20I series, Mithali Raj and company will host England in a three-match ODI series.

Considered a part of the ICC Women’s Championship the All-India Women’s Selection Committee have fielded a strong squad. After their last T20I in Hamilton, New Zealand, on February 10, the Indian team would be coming back to the country with the ODI series scheduled to take place from February 22. It will be followed by a three-match T20I series.

A warm up has match also been scheduled ahead of the series on February 18, where young sensation Smriti Mandhana has been chosen to captain the side. However, it would see the likes of Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemima Rodrigues, other sitting out.
