While DRS for the fielding team is at the sole discretion of the captain, for the batting team, anyone apart from the batsman has little control on it. Yesterday, Comilla Victorians had already lost it, and when Anamul Haque wanted a review, bowler Shakib Al Hasan signalled that they don’t have one.

On the last delivery of the 12th over in Comilla Victorians' innings, Shakib bowled a quick delivery from around the wicket and got the ball to skid on so tightly that Anamul couldn’t get the bat down and was beaten by pace. After that, he was wrapped on the pad adjacent to the sticks and was in no position to get his bat to the top upon impact.

Dhaka Dynamites' Shakib instantly appealed for an LBW dismissal and the umpire didn’t waste a second in calling the batsman out. However, it was a surprising decision for Anamul who knew that he had a huge inside edge and shouldn’t have been given out. He wanted to go for a review, but Shakib told him that they didn’t have any reviews left as Evin Lewis had already wasted it earlier in the innings.

That turned out to be unfortunate for the Victorians as the UltraEdge confirmed that there was a huge spike in the bat and he was not out. But Anamul was left to rue his luck and had to return to the pavilion.
