The India-Australia series has been one of the most fascinating ones in recent memory and not all of it has to do with cricket. With sledging aplenty and fans creating hilarious songs, there was something new on offer as fans brought out their phone lights when play was stopped due to bad light.

After the entire first session of play was washed out, India took complete control of the game on Day 4 as Kuldeep Yadav ripped through the Aussie batting line-up to scalp five wickets in the first innings. India bowled out the Aussies for a mere 300 runs and for the first time in three decades, Australia were forced to follow-on at home.

Coming out to bat for the second consecutive time, the Aussies needed some help from the Rain Gods and they got that as well. Umpires Richard Kettleborough and Ian Gould got together after the fourth over of the second innings and decided to go off as they didn’t have the permissible standard of light to continue the game. Virat Kohli seemed unhappy with that decision and had a word with both the on-field umpires.

But Kohli wasn't the only one who was upset. The fans who had turned up for the game were left hoping for more as they saw less than 30 overs of action in the Day's play. As such when the umpires finally decided to call of the day's action, the crowd, mostly comprising of Indian fans, at the SCG switched on their mobile flashlights in the hopes that it would provide enough illumination to continue the game. However, it was not enough and with Australia trailing by 316 runs, the action was called off.
