Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Monday that they were happy with the security plan provided by Sri Lanka Cricket, after further inspection from their own security team. This means that the two teams will play a three-match ODI series between July 26th and 31st in Colombo.

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, the Bangladesh board raised concerns over their team touring the Island nation for the ODI series. Although Sri Lanka Cricket had promised the security of the highest order to the visiting side, the BCB were not convinced.

Eventually, the BCB decided to send in their own security team for further inspection of the security plan provided by the hosts. As the inspection yielded positive results, BCB confirmed, on July 8th, that clearance to play was given.

'We are happy with the security plan that they provided for the tour. After receiving positive results from our security team we had decided to proceed with the tour Sri Lanka," BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told Cricbuzz.

After return and recovery from the World Cup, the Bangladesh team will fly to Sri Lanka on July 23. The three ODIs will be played in the space of a week - 26th, 28th, and 31st - at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
