ICC World Cup 2019 | Weather forecast for reserve day of India vs New Zealand
Rain played spoilsport once again in the semi-final between India and New Zealand, as play was abandoned for the day with New Zealand batting at 211/5. But unlike the group stages, the semi-finals have a reserve day, and so play will restart tomorrow with New Zealand resuming where they left off.
The rains have frustrated both players and fans more than one could ever imagine in this World Cup and as the covers came on during the 47th over of the semi-final between India and New Zealand, everyone feared the worst. Despite the weather forecast suggesting nothing more than mere passing showers, the unpredictable English weather caught everyone by surprise once again as no further play was possible due to recurring rains.
The forecast for tomorrow's reserve day looks pretty similar to the forecast which was predicted for today, but one has to take it with a pinch of salt thanks to the unpredictability of the English weather. There is 57% chance of rain in the morning tomorrow, and it is expected to be a completely cloudy day. Little rain is expected in the morning and passing showers are expected throughout the course of the day.
Despite the rain being not-so-heavy today, it did enough damage for play to be called off, and a similar pattern tomorrow might very well see the match getting called off. In the rare case of play getting called off, India will progress to the Final thanks on the virtue of finishing above New Zealand on the points table. Play will start at 3 PM IST tomorrow with New Zealand resuming where they left off at 211/5, and in case there is no rain interference, a full 50-over contest will be played out.
