Bhuvneshwar Kumar has stated that playing World Cup finals at Lord’s, which is scheduled on July 14, would be a huge thing, especially given that he has great memories at the venue. The Indian team has been tagged as one among the favourites to lift the trophy for the quadrennial event.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had etched his name on the Lord’s honour board only one year after his debut. The pacer had returned figures of 82 for six and even hit a fifty in the second Test of the 2014 England tour, while playing his part in the historic win. The Uttar Pradesh player hopes that India will be a part of the World Cup finals that will also be played at the same venue.

“I've been here two or three times but I always like coming back to play in England. It would mean a lot to get to go back to Lord's for the final of the World Cup. I have very good memories there, so if we reach the final it will be a very big moment for not just me but for the whole team,” said the 29-year-old, reported Reuters.

Bhuvneshwar also spoke about India’s win over Bangladesh in the second warm-up game at Cardiff. India had blasted 359 runs, courtesy centuries from MS Dhoni and KL Rahul. The middle order was considered as the team’s Achilles heel coming into the ten-nation tournament and the side has definitely shaken that tag off. The Virat Kohli-led team was also clinical with their bowling and fielding efforts and managed to skittle out Bangladesh for 264. The right arm pacer reckoned that bowlers have a lot of freedom when defending a huge target.

"Chasing 350 down is a very big task. There’s always extra belief when you go to bowl. You have the liberty to try few things,” explained Bhuvneshwar.

"We got everything we wanted out of the match; when it comes to batting, bowling and fielding,” he signed off.
