Toronto Nationals have picked up Yuvraj Singh as a marquee player in the draft held on Thursday ahead of the Global T20 League’s 2019 edition. After his retirement from international cricket earlier this month, Yuvraj had requested the BCCI to allow him to play in the foreign T20 leagues.

There is huge news for Yuvraj Singh fans not only in India but also all around the globe as the star all-rounder will be seen in action in the upcoming season of the Global T20 League where he will represent the Toronto Nationals team as a marquee player. The League has made the announcement on its Twitter handle on Thursday.

The Punjab-born cricketer had announced his retirement from international cricket with an intention of taking part in various international T20 leagues around the world. He had written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking permission to allow him to play in the leagues.

The former Indian all-rounder, who was awarded Man of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, played for Mumbai Indians in the last edition of the Indian Premier League earlier this year. He will now play in the second edition of the cricket league in Canada which is scheduled to begin from July 25 in Brampton. The final of the T20 tournament will be played on August 11.
