ICC World Cup 2019 | Rohit Sharma takes jibe at Umpire for 'incorrectly' ruling him out against Windies
DRS continued to remain a hot topic of discussion as Rohit Sharma was given out against the Windies in rather controversial circumstances, with the third umpire overruling the on-field umpire without conclusive evidence. Rohit has now taken to Twitter to express his displeasure over the decision.
Rohit Sharma was batting on 18 when a good length delivery of Kemar Roach nipped off the surface, beating him off the inside-edge. The on-filed umpire did not raise his finger, but the Windies went for a review straightaway as there was a noise as the ball beat Rohit, passing the inside edge. Despite there being a spike when the ball passed the bat and the pad, it seemed like there wasn't enough conclusive evidence to overturn the decision.
However, the third umpire had other ideas as he requested the on-field umpire to overrule his decision. The overrule left everyone on and off the field baffled and confused, including Rohit himself, as there was too much confusion surrounding it for the decision to be overruled. Rohit has now taken to Twitter to express his displeasure over the decision, posting a picture of what seems like clear daylight between bat and ball as the ball passes his inside-edge. Rohit posted the picture along with a "facepalm" emoji, indicating that he clearly does not agree with the decision.
