Despite being categorized amongst the non-contact sports in the world, Cricket does have numerous situations that increase injury chances of the participants. And Aaron Finch could have added one new to the list after his wild celebration following Rohit Sharma’s wicket knew no bounds.

India team finally found familiar grounds as they returned to winning ways with a six-wicket win against Australia in the 50-over format calming fans’ nerves ahead of the World Cup. However, it wasn’t as one-sided as it seemed with the Aussies putting up a strong fight in Hyderabad on Saturday.

After the Kangaroos were limited to a sub-par score of 236 runs in the first innings, India had a pretty easy task in their hands. But, reality crept in only the seventh ball when Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for a golden duck. Though Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma forged a 76-run partnership to ease the pressure, the skipper was sent back to the pavilion in the 17th over.

With two of India’s big three gone, Australia could sniff their chances in an otherwise already lost game. And when Rohit Sharma’s bat top-edged Nathan Coulter-Nile’s ball into the mid-off, Finch couldn’t contain his excitement. As if he had pre-meditated his celebration, the skipper threw the ball high up in the air soon after catching it.

The ball was coming down fast as the Aussies came together to celebrate and maybe it was Finch shouting about the ball or pure luck that it fell in the middle of everyone. Ashton Turner, Coulter-Nile, and Marcus Stoinis were given a true fright when the ball whooshed amidst the small crowd.
