VIDEO | Virat Kohli mockingly shrugs off Australia’s DRS appeal after Maxwell ball lands on outside leg stump line

It was a day of Virat Kohli classic as he took on the Aussie bowlers with absolute disdain and set off on a mission to pull off another chase, only to be denied by a stunning Adam Zampa delivery. However, after that he had done enough damage to score a beautifully-crafted century in Ranchi, all this while helping his partners out from the other end. After helping Kedar Jadhav hit a four, Kohli was there on the crease to see Australia messing up a review. 

On the second delivery of the 35th over, which was bowled by Glenn Maxwell, Shankar was at the receiving end of a loud Aussie appeal. Maxwell bowled a flighted delivery against which the Tamil Nadu batsman attempted a sweep, only to be struck low in front of the stumps. Maxwell appealed for the dismissal, but the umpire turned it down.

While Aaron Finch seemed a bit hesitant to go for the review, Maxwell convinced him to take the chance against the last-recognised batsman of the line-up. After a mini-discussion with Maxwell, the Aussie skipper went upstairs to consult the third umpire. However, it was a no-brainer for Kumar Dharmasena as he saw the ball was pitched down the leg-stump. 

However, the real action took place before the call went for a review as when Australia were gathered in the middle, Kohli was seen gesturing to the Aussies that the ball had missed the leg and in no way, it could’ve been declared as out, almost in a mocking way to tell them that they had lost the review.
