Kiwi pace bowling all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn will replace injured Lungi Ngidi in the Chennai Super Kings side for the rest of the 12th season of the IPL. Ngidi was ruled out just before the beginning of the league because of a side strain that he suffered during the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Kuggeleijn is all set to make his maiden appearance in the IPL as he has been signed by Chennai Super Kings for the 12th season of the league as a replacement for injured Lungi Ngidi. The South African pacer was ruled out just before the start of the tournament and the CSK team will now have the services of the Kiwi all-rounder who has played two ODIs and four T20Is for the national side so far.

“Chennai Super Kings have picked Scott Kuggeleijn as replacement for the injured fast bowler Lungi Ngidi for the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019,” the IPL press release read.

The 27-year-old Kiwi player has an experience of 75 T20s where he has claimed 67 wickets so far. Apart from that, has 233 wickets and 2563 runs including three hundreds in first-class cricket. He plays for Northern Districts in New Zealand domestic cricket and was a part of the playing XI in the three T20Is against India at home last month.

Chennai Super Kings will face Rajasthan Royals in their third game of the tournament in Chennai today.
