Jofra Archer shared that he has moved on racial abuses hurled at him in Mount Maunganui, but it was a real shameful incident even though it was only one person behind it. Archer conceded that had the comments been on his performance he could have swallowed it but racism has no place in the world.

New Zealand’s brilliant fightback at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui to win the first Test match of the series by an innings but it was forced to the shadows by an unwanted incident that took place in the stands. After the defeat, English pacer Jofra Archer took to social media to throw light on the shameful happenings which muted all the joy of crushing the visitors.

Archer shared, through his Twitter handle, that he was racially abused when took the long walk back to the pavilion after being dismissed. The news sent a massive uproar in the cricketing world as New Zealand Cricket (NZC) launched a probe to nab the culprit as they extended an apology to the Barbados lad.

Ahead of the second and final Test match of the series, Archer conceded that he has moved on from the incident. He even went on to say that had the comments been on his performance he might very well have swallowed it but racism has no place in the world, let alone the ground of cricket.

"The first thing I want to say about what happened towards the end of the test at Mount Maunganui is that I’m over it. I’ve left what happened at the ground and I’ve moved on. I should also say it was just one person who was shouting stuff. But I found the incident a real shame," Archer was quoted as saying by a column.

"If someone wants to shout at me and tell me I’m bowling badly, that’s fine. I may not agree but it’s fine. It’s part of the experience of being a touring cricketer. To hear racism, though — that’s another matter. There is no time or place for it in any walk of life, let alone cricket. It’s just not called for," added the youngster.

Archer had a very disappointing outing at the Bay Oval as he secured only one wicket in the encounter, on the back of a terrific Ashes performance. Archer, having failed with ball, tried to make up for it with the bat as he went on to score a gritty 30 but failed the save the England side from an innings defeat.
