Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will reportedly travel to the UK to seek opinion about the 'minor stress fracture' on his lower back. Bumrah is expected to consult multiple specialists on the injury, the extent of which is unknown, which ruled him out of the Test series against South Africa.

After a brilliant outing with the Test team in the Caribbean where he picked up 13 wickets in two matches, including only the third hat-trick by an Indian in the format, Bumrah was rested for the three-match T20I series against South Africa. At the end of that limited-overs series which ended 1-1, with one game washed out, he underwent a routine radiological screening ahead of the three-match Test series which detected the injury.

Since then, Bumrah has been rehabilitating at the NCA in Bengaluru, while fellow pacer Umesh Yadav, who last played in India’s tour of Australia, took his place in the 15-member squad. The series which is a part of the ICC Test Championship will get underway on October 2 at Visakhapatnam.

Meanwhile, as PTI reported, Bumrah will travel to the UK during the month of October, along with Ashish Kaushik — the head physiotherapist at the National Cricket Academy. The pacer is set to consult multiple specialists in the country in order to treat his minor stress fracture which has ruled him out of action for the forthcoming weeks.

Bumrah is also the highest wicket-taker for India in Tests in this calendar year and will be a major miss for the Virat Kohli-led side in the three-Tests against South Africa.
