Indian captain Virat Kohli said that he is looking forward to more healthy discussions with newly elected BCCI President. Sourav Ganguly has captained India for a long time and knows the different situations that the Indian team might encounter and thus could provide valuable suggestions.

Sourav Ganguly is arguably India's most successful captain and was among the first people who instilled the belief in the team that winning a Test series overseas was possible. Virat Kohli shares the same mindset as his aggressive nature is often compared to that of Ganguly. He believes that Ganguly will be giving valuable advice to the team which will help them in the longer run.

"I am looking forward to a good discussion. He is someone who has played a lot of cricket before, who knows the situation we are in, what the team needs, the requirements of Indian cricket," said Kohli, according to TOI.

"It will be a healthy discussion because I am playing currently and he has played before, there will be an understanding of these things. I have had good discussions in the past with him and I expect the same this time," he added.

Ganguly wants Kohli to inspire his team to win crunch games and not get knocked out of the ICC tournaments coming to the business end. India have not won any of the last seven ICC tournaments, the last triumph being the 2013 Champions Trophy. Ganguly has promised his full support to Kohli in achieving this objective.

Ganguly believes that having been a captain himself he has a fair understanding of what the team requires and will try his best to help the Indian team in all possible ways and take good decisions for the team's welfare.
