Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019 | Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan among several international players in Delhi probables list
DDCA has announced the 50-member strong probables list for the upcoming season of tournament and it contains the names of internationals like Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli among others. The competition will take place between September and October and might see participation from these players.
Delhi & District Cricket Association on Tuesday released the 50 players shortlist of those who might be picked for the upcoming season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. The tournament is now in its 18th season and is the country’s premier one day domestic competition. It is scheduled to start from the 24th of September and will run for nearly three weeks, with the final slated for the 10th of October.
Capped players such as Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Ishant Sharma and the national skipper across all formats Virat Kohli had their names included among the 50. However, with the dates of the tournament clashing with the three match home Test series against South Africa, it is unlikely that all of them will turn out for the domestic team on the field that had ended the last season as a finalist.
The last T20I against the Proteas will take place on the 22nd of September, following which there is a nine-day break before the first Test on the second of October. While players like Dhawan and Saini may participate considering they are not a part of the country’s Test team, the other three might join in too for some group stage games in order to prepare for the gruelling red-ball season ahead.
