The International Cricket Council will review the security arrangements made in Pakistan with regards to the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka. Earlier, the Sri Lanka Cricket board were alarmed by the Prime Minister's office about a possible terrorist threat which made the board reassess plans.

The ICC will be appointing the match officials for the upcoming home series for Pakistan against Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to start on September 27, before which the international council will be assessing the security arrangements in the country.

According to a Pakistan Urdu daily 'Daily Jang', the ICC will analyse the security arrangements made by the Pakistan government before appointing neutral umpires and match referees for the upcoming series.

The last time when an international series was played in Pakistan when Zimbabwe toured in 2015, ICC had not appointed any neutral match officials from its end and it was up to the two nations to make decisions. The ICC hasn't asked the two boards - PCB and SLC - to pick officials according to their mutual setup yet but its decision can only be known once the security review is done.

While the SLC said that they need to "reassess" their plan for the Pakistan tour ever since the PMO had alerted them about the potential threat, the PCB has made it clear that it will not be shifting the series to a neutral venue.

The tour will be consisting of three ODIs and as many T20Is in Karachi and Lahore and is scheduled to be played from September 27 and October 9.
