VIDEO | Sachin Tendulkar tweets an old clip of practicing in unusual conditions

Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday had everyone feeling nostalgic as he took people down the memory lane with a video he posted on the microblogging platform of him practising in the nets. The video showed the pitch full of water but Sachin in full batting gear was facing the deliveries with a smile.

Hailed as the ‘God of cricket’ by a large community of cricket followers all around the world, Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement a few years ago saw people having to bid goodbye to the one who made them fall in love with the sport. His absence from the pitch seemed to have left a void in the hearts of people but a clip he shared on Friday had people reminiscing of the good old days.

Uploaded at 2:20 AM on Friday, the video was posted with an inspirational message that read, “Love and passion for the game always helps you find new ways to practice, and above all to enjoy what you do. #FlashbackFriday” 

The 45 second clip showed him batting in the nets even as it poured down relentlessly, with the pitch having become nothing but a pool of water. Donning an old India jersey from when Sahara was the team’s main sponsor, his helmet had the Indian crest on it as some of his friends bowled to him. There were glimpses of his traditional drives and flicks on the leg side, while he shared a laugh with the others as the odd bouncer whiskered past him as he dodged.
