Australia stamped their dominance in the Women’s World Cup 2022 beating England by 71 runs in the final and winning the trophy for the seventh time. Allysa Healy’s innings was the talking point of the match and her glorious knock helped the team set up a winning total. Batting first, Australia’s top order was on fire.

Opener Alyssa Healy played the innings of her life smashing 170 runs from just 138 deliveries hitting 26 boundaries. Rachael Haynes scored 68 while Beth Mooney scored 62. With the heavy contribution from top-order, the team posted a mammoth total of 356/5 in the first innings.

To chase such a big target in the final of the showpiece event, England needed something special. They always kept run-rate in check but lost wickets at regular intervals. Natalie Sciver scored unbeaten 148 runs from 121 balls but no one stayed with him at the crease to construct a winning partnership. The team was bundled out on 285 with six more overs to go. Alana Kings picked three wickets for 64 runs and Jess Jonassen also scalped three wickets. Australia have extended their count of ODI World Cup trophies to seven with this victory.
