KL Rahul will lead the Indian team in the T20I series against SA which begins on June 9 with the first match to be played at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi. Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has praised KL Rahul and said that the young players in the team will need a leader like him.

India will take on South Africa in a five-match T20I series beginning on the 9th of June. The team will be led by opening batter KL Rahul who has done well as LSG’s captain in the recently concluded IPL 2022 season. The right-handed batter has a calm demeanour to himself which is one of the qualities that fans and ex-cricketers admire about him as a leader.

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina while talking about KL Rahul said that the young players in the team need a leader like KL Rahul. “He has looked very calm and composed as a captain in recent times and the players selected need a leader like KL Rahul. There is Kuldeep (Yadav) and Chahal, both will play together,” Suresh Raina told Star Sports.

“There are new fast bowlers - Umran Malik, the way he has bowled, and then Arshdeep. Both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik, whose performance has been very good in the IPL, will also be there. So I feel his (Rahul's) presence will bring calmness and the South African players are also good, so it will be a very good contest."

Rishabh Pant will be the vice-captain of the team for this series and will be hoping to do well.
