Cricket is a game of innovation and the unorthodox shots are a testament to the creative genius of the batsman. In the clash between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, a remarkable moment unfolded when MS Dhoni executed an unconventional shot to send the ball for a six behind the wicket.

‌Opting to bowl first paid off for the Lucknow Super Giants as they swiftly removed Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the powerplay. Despite a solid effort from Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja, guiding their team to 51/2 by the end of the powerplay, their partnership didn't translate into substantial runs. The game took a turn as Chennai lost key wickets, including Rahane, Shivam Dube, and Sameer Rizvi leaving them struggling at 90/5 in 12.2 overs. With Moeen Ali's exit in the 18th over, all eyes turned to MS Dhoni to salvage the innings for CSK. In a pivotal moment during the 19th over, Dhoni opted for an unusual shot, sending the ball sailing for a six off Mohsin Khan.

As Mohsin delivered a length ball in the second ball of the 19th over just outside the off stump, Dhoni elegantly walked across the stumps, connecting with the ball's trajectory. The 42-year-old veteran executed a scoop, resulting in a top edge off the bat that soared over Lucknow's wicket-keeper KL Rahul, delighting the packed crowd as they witnessed Dhoni's unconventional stroke play.

The Twitterverse marvelled at Dhoni's innovation and skill applauding his ability to adapt and surprise with a different style of shot.

That's new shot in the market!

Thala ra mawa!

Dhoni turned into new version of SKY!

Brilliant from Thala!

Wait a minute??

He is never old!

What a shot that is!

Agreed! He can do anything because he is Thala.

Brilliant scoop!

Hahahaha!
