There's nothing more special for a bowler than taking the wicket of an in-form batter aiming for a century. Such was the case in the second session of the first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, where Mohammad Ali's splendid delivery dismissed the in-form Shadman Islam.

‌Bangladesh's batters showed resilience on Day 3 with Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan cautiously resumed play. But early breakthroughs by Naseem Shah and Khurram Shahzad put Bangladesh at 53/2. Shadman and Mominul Haque then built a solid 81-run partnership before Mominul was dismissed. By lunch, Bangladesh had reached 134/2. Post-lunch, Khurram removed Mominul, but Shadman continued to steady the innings with Mushfiqur Rahim, taking the score to 195/3, still trailing by 253 runs. As the 29-year-old was cruising with the bat, Mohammed Ali struck and claimed his wicket just before tea.

On the last ball of the 66th over, Ali bowled a perfectly pitched-up delivery from over the wicket. The ball was angling around off stump as nipped back sharply towards the stumps. Shadman attempted for a drive but ended up misjudging the movement and was beaten on the inside edge. The ball crashed into the stumps, dismissing him for 93 in a crucial moment of the match. The significance of this wicket was immense, as it shifted the momentum decisively in favour of Pakistan. News of the dramatic dismissal quickly spread on Twitter, with fans and analysts buzzing about Ali’s crucial impact on the game.
