The T20I format in cricket has often been linked with increased entertainment factor among the audience. Another entity that has been adding to the audience’s amusement of late is Rohit Sharma and stump mic specials as the India versus England Semi Finals clash witnessed yet another similar antic.

Winning the toss and electing to field first paid dividends for England as Virat Kohli and Sam Curran fell cheaply to left-arm pacers inside the 46-run powerplay. With Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav stabilizing the ship, rain halted the game for 77 minutes before the Mumbai pair resumed proceedings to stitch a 73-run third-wicket stand. One of the game's highlights was a stump mic special including both the batters against the spinners. 

The Indian pair were seen negating the spinners cautiously after the resumption before guidance from Surya helped Rohit break the shackles. During the eleventh over, the Indian skipper was caught in a stump mic talking about his intent to smack a six if the ball fell in his range. In reply, the 33-year-old, at the non-striker’s end, expressed that the breeze was down the ground. On the last ball of the same over, Livingstone dished a fuller one around the fourth stump that Rohit came forward and whacked down the ground for a biggie.
