The adoration for cricketing icons reaches immense heights in the IPL, especially when it comes to witnessing MS Dhoni's batting. However, the anticipation of the Chennai crowd was met with disappointment as it was Ravindra Jadeja and not Dhoni who came out to bat after Sameer Rizvi's departure.

‌Chennai Super Kings showcased an outstanding performance with the bat, highlighted by impressive partnerships between openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra, setting a strong foundation with a 62-run stand. Daryl Mitchell and Shivam Dube further accelerated the CSK batting lineup. Throughout the innings, amidst the runs scored by CSK and their fall of wickets, attention remained fixated on the local hero, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, with the crowd eagerly awaiting his appearance. The broadcasting cameras captured the mood of the audience each time they panned to Dhoni.

However, despite the anticipation the crowd's hopes were dashed when after Sameer Rizvi's brief yet impactful cameo of 14 runs from six deliveries, the scorecard reading 199/5, Dhoni didn't emerge to bat. The atmosphere at the Chidambaram Stadium shifted from excitement to quiet disappointment as Ravindra Jadeja took to the field instead, leaving the crowd subdued.

The unfolding events were closely monitored by the Twitterverse, who swiftly took to social media platforms to discuss it.

It's always remarkable when a young batter makes a big impact, but it's even more memorable when they start with a bang by hitting a first-ball six against a top-notch bowler. CSK's Sameer Rizvi did the same when he launched a massive six off Gujarat Titans' world-beater Rashid Khan.
