Cricket is a team game and it demands a proper complement between the team members to taste success. When a well-set Sarfaraz Khan fickle against Tim Southee’s second new ball spell, ally Rishabh Pant didn’t hesitate to calm down the centurion in the afternoon session on the fourth day.

Despite the overhead conditions in the morning session of the ensuing first, New Zealand bowlers failed to capitalise and earn a wicket with Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant going strong. The former quickly notched up his 16th First Class century before Pant switched gears and followed up with a fifty. However, the rain gods showed up lately causing a brisk pause in the encounter before a quick wrap-up from the groundstaffs resumed proceedings. With the Indian duo going strong, the Kiwi bowlers seemed to be on the back foot before the second new ball reignited their hopes.

Southee donned the brand new SG, coming over the wicket, and bowled a shortish widish delivery that swung away from Sarfaraz who was beaten on an intended thwack. The next ball was close to the off stump that jagged in due and beat the outside edge for the second occasion in the over. While the Mumbaikar shoulder armed the next delivery on a good length, the fourth ball beat his outside edge for the third time in the over as Sarfaraz aimed for the cut. Seeing the new red cherry trouble a set-batter, Pant from the non-striker’s end walked up to Sarfaraz and guided him by pointing his finger to be cautious against the new ball. The wholesome moment caught the Twitterverse’s attention who buzzed about the duo’s incredible camaraderie.
