A batter's worst nightmare is to suffer an injury from a fiery delivery that could lead to serious harm. This became a reality during the Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and New South Wales, where Marcus Harris was severely hurt on his elbow by a blistering delivery from Mitchell Starc.
While Victoria was batting, Starc bowled from around the wicket and delivered a fuller ball that seamed in sharply. The delivery was perfectly executed and moved rapidly. The sheer pace caught Harris off guard as he attempted to defend, and the red ball struck his left elbow with force. Harris grimaced in pain as the camera zoomed in on a significant bruise forming on his elbow.. With Cameron Green injured, Steve Smith is likely to move back to middle-order, leaving the opening slot vacant. Hence, Harris is viewed as a potential candidate and he would be hoping that the blow on his hand is not serious enough to rule him out of the series.
