What differentiates the extraordinary from the ordinary is the sheer skill set to deliver in the unexpected moments. The pitch turned out to be a batting haven on the fourth day of the round three Duleep Trophy clash between India A and C when Aaqib Khan showed the way how things are done.

Having piled up 260 runs by the third day of the match,  India A batted for a couple of more overs in the fourth day’s morning session before captain Mayank Agarwal declared, setting a target of 350 runs for India C to win. Openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Vyshak Vijaykumar added 36 runs together before B Sai Sudharsan accompanied his skipper. The pair seemed defensive in their approach, aiming for a draw that would help them win the Trophy. Just when things seemed to go out of control for the India A side, Aaqib Khan generated a magical spell to remove Gaikwad and Rajat Patidar with the second one being a peach.

Patidar played 30 balls to score seven runs in ten overs after Gaikwad was dismissed in the second session. Aiming to play a sumptuous drive on the last ball of the 48th over, he was cleaned up by an in-jagged that moved enough off the deck after hitting the good length. A pitch that wasn’t doing much for the fast bowlers since the morning saw Aaqib generate some in-seam movement and crash the off stump through the gates of Patidar’s defense to leave India C three wickets down. Seeing the UP-based pacer continue his impressive run in the domestic circuit, the Twitterverse could not shy away from appreciating what they saw.
