Injuries are part and parcel of any outdoor sport, so much so that professionals often become desensitized to such agony. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill emerged as prime examples in Hyderabad on Sunday when the duo engaged in banter while Glenn Phillips left the wild after hurting his leg.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's drastic downfall with the bat continued at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium against Gujarat Titans as the hosts found themselves reeling at 64/3 at the halfway stage of their innings after being asked to bat first. None of their explosive top three managed to make a dent while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen chose to bide their time early on in their innings, with the slow and sticky deck playing its role too. Such has been the season for SRH that even the only piece of good news they received during this phase of the innings was of unfortunate nature and involved tremendous pain.

Kishan was up against Prasidh Krishna in the final over the powerplay and gently guided a shortish wide delivery on the fourth ball for a quick single. Glenn Phillips, realizing the run-out opportunity, came steaming in from midwicket and in one swift motion picked up the ball to fling it sidearm at the stumps. The Kookaburra missed the stumps by a fair margin but the team lost potentially much more than just a run-out. As soon as Phillips threw the ball, he lost his balance and tripped to the deck on his right side with hurt written large over his face. The Kiwi instantly called on the physios and while they looked at the batter and provided him the required treatment, GT skipper Shubman Gill found a moment to banter with compatriot Kishan.

The duo stood with Kishan's hand crossed over Gill's shoulder and it was enough to make Tiwtterati livid given Phillips had to walk off and potentially deny his team an Impact Player option.

What was that!
