There are some moments of misfortune in the game of cricket that result in a player missing out on a milestone. A similar moment was experienced by South African pacer Kagiso Rabada as he missed out on his three-wicket haul due to a no-ball in the first T20I against Australia in Darwin.

The first half of the opening innings was dominated by South Africa in the first T20I against Australia as they managed to dismiss half the Aussie side in the first 10 overs. However, the second half saw a complete flip-around courtesy an incredible innings by Tim David. The explosive batter made sure that the runs kept coming from one side even as he kept running out of partners. The Proteas struggled to contain the middle-order hitter once he got going. It did not help that the Rainbow Nation commited some grave silly mistakes which only added salt to their wounds.
Kagiso Rabada, the Proteas' best bowler in the game with just 23 runs conceded off his three overs along with a couple of scalps, was handed the 18th over to complete his quota. Despite getting hit for a boundary of Tim David in the fourth delivery of the over, Rabada kept things tight and nearly managed to add a cherry on top with his third wicket on the last delivery of the over. Nathan Ellis skied a shortish delivery and was duly caught on the deep square leg boundary but unfortunately for the South African pacer, his front foot was caught outside the crease, which resulted in Ellis surviving.
The fans sympathised with Rabada’s misfortune.
