Renuka Singh Thakur goes off the field due to injury during the second ODI against Australia Women at Mullanpur in Chandigarh on Wednesday. This injury scare causes a huge concern for the team, who might lose their premier pacer before the World Cup, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka.

India Women’s premier pacer Renuka Singh Thakur goes off the field mid-over due to a shin injury in the second ODI against Australia Women. This is also a concerning matter for the Women in Blue just before the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Though Renuka was not part of the lineup in the first ODI in the series, she was brought in place of Shree Charani in the second game with her team trailing 1-0. The 29-year-old swing bowler bowled a brilliant spell in the power play and also got the wicket of Georgia Voll. She had only given 23 runs in her first six overs and came back for another spell in the 18th over.

Renuka had completed three balls of the over until she started to hold her shin in pain. The physio came rushing out on the field to check on her, and it was finally decided that she would be going off the field while Arundhati Reddy completed the over for her.

The Indian team would be hoping that the injury is not that serious and the right-arm quick will be fit enough to play in the World Cup, which will start from September 30.
