The controversy between IPL and PSL is silently going on, as the Pakistani players are receiving tough questions related to the same. This also happened with Ahmed Shehzad, who was recently asked about the comparison between the two leagues taking place at the same time. His response to this comparison has left everyone stunned.
Ahmed Shehzad responded to the comparison by saying, “The only players you have left in the PSL are those who retired from the IPL, went unsolds in the IPL or have no IPL careers left in the IPL (David Warner, Steve Smith). Anyone at all who have a chance to play will only select the IPL. So how many more players you will ban?”
His comments came after Blessing Muzarabani received a ban from the PSL for two years. Along with that, he also asked why players like Spencer Johnson and Dasun Shanaka have not been suspended for the same. Shehzad also said that the comparison between the two leagues which has taken place recently is doing more harm than good.
Our Take
The Indian Premier League is undoubtedly the most popular T20 league all over the world. And with PSL’s schedule clashing with the same, it has been a challenging time for the Pakistan Cricket Board also. Recently, the questions about this comparison have been made only by the journalists and reporters in the PSL, which has further fueled a controversy. It grew even more when Blessing Muzarabani, who chose IPL over PSL, received a 2 year suspension from the tournament.
