Rajasthan Royals secure a narrow win over Delhi Capitals. The team started by posting a competitive total at Jaipur. Following this, a disciplined bowling effort by Jofra Archer helped them to win, even after Kuldeep Yadav’s dominant bowling for Delhi Capitals.

Pitch and Weather

The pitch at Sawai Mansingh Stadium is likely to be slow and two paced. It assists spinners as the match progresses. Batting is easier to do in the powerplay, but when the ball grips in the middle overs, it becomes challenging to play for boundaries. Pacers who will be using variations will come out to be effective. Weather conditions for this game are warm and dry, with minimal dew also expected.

Toss

Rajasthan Royals wins the toss and decides to bat first, aiming to use the batter-friendly conditions.

T Natarajan struck back to remove Jaiswal, which brought Delhi back into the game. Riyan Parag entered the crease to anchor the innings, as he received support from Dhruv Jurel.

In the middle overs, Kuldeep Yadav entered and started to dominate. He took the wickets of Donovan Ferreira and Dhruv Jurel, slowing down RR’s scoring rate. Riyan Parag played a composed knock of 54 runs, as a late finish by Dasun Shanaka helped Rajasthan to score 162/7 in 20 overs.

Replying to this, Delhi Capitals started the chase with caution, as KL Rahul anchored in the powerplay after the team lost an early wicket. Nitish Rana was able to provide support to Rahul, but disciplined bowling from Ravindra Jadeja and Nandre Burger kept the scoring rate right.

The turning point arrived when Jofra Archer took the wicket of Rahul at 58, which triggered a collapse. Delhi needed 35 runs off the last 4 overs, where the team failed to accelerate. Tristan Stubbs gave a late push, but Rajasthan held their nerve to restrict Delhi at 154/8 in 20 overs.
