Tillakaratne Dilshan and Rishabh Pant have held patronage to the scoop, and the falling shot, respectively, but Tim Seifert did both proud with a stunning shot against Sydney Thunder in BBL. The Melbourne Renegades batter tried going for the scoop before adjusting well to execute an audacious six.

‌Melbourne Renegades had a slow start after being put in by Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League on Monday. The side had to wait eight balls before getting the first runs off the bat at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

However, Tim Seifert cut loose a couple of balls later with an audacious six to leave David Willey stunned. In fact, it was his first scoring shot in the match as he perfectly used the space behind the wicket.

With Willey approaching the crease to deliver, Seifert shuffled across to show all three stumps. But the former England pacer followed the batter, bowling at a good length and aiming at his torso.

The Kiwi wicketkeeper-batter, who was already committed to go for the scoop, adjusted perfectly to execute the falling shot over the wicketkeeper’s head. Though it appeared Seifert would have to eschew his plans with the ball very close to him, he showed great courage in continuing with the shot and reaping the rewards for it.

Willey was stunned as he stood for a moment before walking back helplessly to his bowling mark. Seifert not only earned six runs for his bravado, but also ended up marrying Tillakaratne Dilshan’s scoop with Rishabh Pant’s falling hit to great success.

Audacious!
