Ishan Kishan has made one of the best comebacks in the Indian team. Following the 2023 World Cup, he was also removed from the BCCI Central Contract in 2024. But he made a return at his best, as he even scored an ODI ton in the second match against Afghanistan.

Take a look at the time when the BCCI announced its Central Contract list for 2024-25. Ishan Kishan, the player who played the most games for the team in the previous season, found himself dropped from the same. And then, he worked way harder than anyone expected to ensure that 2026 became the year of his comeback.

After leading Jharkhand to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he was able to make his way back to the Indian team in the T20I format. He also played for the team in the T20 World Cup, where India went on to win the tournament. Along with that, Kishan was also able to finish as the highest run-scorer for the Indian team.

Following his performances in the IPL and T20I side, he also made it back to the ODI team. In the series against Afghanistan, he was able to do well in his comeback game but didn't score big. However, his ODI comeback happened in the second ODI, as he went on to score a century, completing his comeback.

Our Take

Ishan Kishan has scripted one of the biggest comebacks which no one ever saw coming. Watching him back in the Indian team not just in one but two formats of the game. In the same year, he has managed to score centuries in ODI and T20I formats for the Indian team, and that too in a few games after his return to the side.
