Rohit Sharma has surely been one of the funniest players for Mumbai Indians. The Hitman joined the training camp a day before yesterday, and his arrival was also announced in style. Yesterday, Mumbai Indians posted a video of Rohit Sharma hitting the nets, where he looked at his best form to the fans.

In the glimpses shared by Mumbai Indians on their socials, one of them has taken up the internet. Shardul Thakur, who is now a part of Mumbai Indians, was bowling to Rohit Sharma. The Hitman smashed the ball well on the on side and it went for a six. But when Rohit smashed the ball, it seemed that Lord Shardul said to catch it.

The Hitman must've heard it and that's where the banter began. As the ball went towards the stands, Rohit Sharma said, “Catch It! In the stands. Catch it! In the stands.” This eventually made Shardul Thakur break his character as he also shared a laugh with Rohit Sharma in the nets session.

Our Take

Rohit Sharma is on a mission to win his 7th IPL trophy in IPL 2026. He has not been able to win the IPL since 2020, when he led Mumbai to their fifth title win. Now, the Hitman returns to the shortest format of the game to give his best to his franchise. Moreover, he also has his eyes set on the Orange Cap this time.

Despite being among the highest run scorers in the IPL history, he has not been able to win the Orange Cap. But taking a look at his form in the nets, it looks like he is ready to compete with the prime batsmen to take the cap. Even the Head Coach of Mumbai Indians, Mahela Jayawardene praised Rohit Sharma for his fitness.
