Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been one of the most dominant teams in the IPL this decade. Entering IPL 2026 as the defending champions, they also stand as the front-runners to win the title. Amidst this, former RCB player, AB de Villiers, predicted the team to win 2-3 titles.

Taking a look back at the IPL in the last two editions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have emerged as the most consistent team. They have made it to almost every playoffs from the 2020 edition and even won their first ever final in IPL 2025. The team was able to break its 17 year title wait, winning it in the 18th season.

But taking a look at RCB's form, it was clear that the team won't be satisfied with just one title. With players such as Virat Kohli, Josh Hazlewood, Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and many more, the team is also ready to bring more titles. They will also be entering the IPL 2026 as the front-runners to win the championship again.

Right before the tournament begins, AB de Villiers, who has been a part of the team, made a bold statement. He said that the team looks strong enough to win 2-3 IPL trophies in a row.

Here's how Twitter has reacted to this statement by Mr 360°.

Hazlewood Effect

Josh Hazlewood was a key bowler for RCB in their title win last season. And it is for sure that his fitness would be a determinant, whether RCB reaches the playoffs or not.

Honest Comment

AB de Villiers spent a lot of time with the RCB but he was never able to win a title with them. For the job he did for the team, he surely deserved one title.

No Need of Saying That

A Twitter user really took a dig at the former RCB player, AB de Villiers. He said that the team didn't win any title when de Villiers was a part of the same. But a few seasons without him, they have won their first.
