BCCI Unveils Afghanistan Series Squad With Surprise Selections

The BCCI has announced India's squad for the Test and ODI matches against Afghanistan. KL Rahul has been promoted to the Vice Captain in Tests, while Ishan Kishan makes his comeback to the ODI team. Moreover, the line-up includes some surprise selections who are likely to make their debut.

India will be going against Afghanistan right after the IPL comes to an end. And the tournament has proven to be helpful to the selectors, as they announced India's squad for the series against Afghanistan. While the majority of the team remains the same as it was in the previous series, there have been some surprises too.

Test Squad: Shubman Gill (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel, Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Manav Suthar, Gurnoor and Harsh Dubey.

ODI Squad: Shubman Gill (C), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (VC), KL Rahul (WK), Ishan Kishan (WK), Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Prince Yadav, Gurnoor and Harsh Dubey.

KL Rahul has been appointed as the vice captain of the test team. Moreover, players such as Harsh Dubey and Gurnoor have gotten the opportunity to make their debut for the team. Prince Yadav, the player who impressed everyone with his bowling skills also gets a shot in the ODI line-up.

India has surely announced a strong squad for the Test and ODI series against Afghanistan. Several players have gotten the opportunity to make their debut for the team. But the questions still remain on those who performed well and still were not able to make their comeback to the line-up. Ishan Kishan has written his redemption well, as he even made his comeback to the ODI team.
