Kerala Blasters FC coach, David James, has rued his side’s missed opportunities as they played out a 1-1 draw against Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cesar Ferrando was disappointed that Michael Soosairaj suffered a hamstring injury during the game.

Kerala Blasters FC had to fight back and rescue a one-point draw against the high-flying Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday. Seiminlen Doungel scored a late equaliser for the home team after Carlos Calvo put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot in the second-half.

Blasters FC coach, David James, was disappointed in his side’s missed opportunities against Jamshedpur on home turf. However, James praised his side’s performance while demanding more composure from his squad.

"It has been a constant theme this season. I cannot moan about it. I just have to speak as it is. We got Seiminlen Doungel to save us today. If you ask me, it was a game that we should have won. We clearly had the best chances. We scored a legitimate goal and got undone by a decision which was not a penalty. Today we were on top for most of the match.

"I’m laughing because it is another draw. But yes, this is possibly the best we have played. We have had goal-line clearances, we hit the crossbar and we had dominance in many areas. We really did not give them much. Sandesh Jhingan was fantastic on the right-hand side. What we did was excellent. Maybe a little bit more composure in the right place is missing. Everybody did everything right from a team point of view. There was nothing more we could have done to get the three points," James said at a post-match press meet.

Meanwhile, opposition coach Cesar Ferrando admitted that his side were up against a strong team last night. The visitors were dealt a huge blow on Tuesday as winger Michael Soosairaj suffered a hamstring injury and was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"We took a point. It was a difficult match to play. In the last minutes of the game, my team got tired. We had only three days after the last match and a long travel, so it was difficult to play against Kerala. They had three or four chances to score and so did we. He had a hamstring injury. I think it will be impossible for him to play before the break. Maybe in mid-January. It will be a big blow for us," Ferrando revealed.
