Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has criticized the English transfer window, going on to say that it leaves clubs vulnerable to bids. The English window closes nearly a month before the other big leagues and that has caused a few concerns among Premier League’s big sides over the last few years.

While Tottenham did heavily invest in their squad on deadline day, with the additions of Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino isn’t happy. The Argentine has criticised the Premier League and the FA, regarding the transfer window, revealing that it leaves’ clubs open to an attack from Europe’s big leagues.

“Sometimes it’s going to be difficult. Any club from Europe can create a big problem,” said Pochettino. “They have many different objectives, different challenges and different thoughts. That is why it surprised me when they decided to close the window in England earlier.

It gives Europe the opportunity to create problems here and I think it’s not common sense. We open the door for different clubs in Europe to create confusion in your squad. I think we need to go back and operate in the same way Europe operates now.”

Despite all his concerns about the transfer window and his players being linked to various European big-wigs, Pochettino is happy with the moves his side have made so far. “I’m so happy with the squad today. I was happy before and now I’m happy plus. I’m a happy man. But I think it can be possible that we are more vulnerable. It’s about the decision between the club and of course the player. I am going to coach the player. I don’t know what is going on between the clubs."
