With Chelsea banned from spending on new players for two transfer windows, the Blues have appealed that decision and Frank Lampard has divulged that the club will know soon. Reports have indicated that the club legend wants to spend in January to reinforce his side in the race for the title.

The Blues appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over their transfer ban and have challenged the verdict given by FIFA’s disciplinary and appeal committees. The club appealed to FIFA and the case was heard again in April but their transfer ban stood with FIFA revealing that the club had committed 150 breaches of regulations including breaching “article 19 of its regulations on the status and transfer of players (RSTP), which concerns the protection of minors.”

However, the Blues filed another appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in November and Frank Lampard has revealed that the decision by the Blues will know their decision soon. In his pre-match press conference, Lampard also admitted that he hadn’t heard anything more but everything will become clear within days with the club hoping that they can spend on new additions.

"Very soon, I believe. Days, I think. I haven't heard any more, so I would wait and reserve judgement [on Chelsea's plans for January] until we get the judgement and see where we want to go from there,” said Lampard reported the BBC.
