According to a report in TOI, the Mumbai Football Arena has been decided as the venue for the final game of the Indian Super League (ISL)’s fifth season to be held on March 17. The first leg of the semi-finals will be played on March 8 and 9 while the second leg will be held on March 11 and 12.

With the league stage of the fifth season of ISL coming to an end on March 3, TOI has learnt that the final and semi-finals dates have been announced. It is the second time in the five-year history of the league that Mumbai has got the go-ahead to host the summit clash which is scheduled to be held on March 17. The first and fourth teams will play on March 8 and March 11 while the teams finishing second and third will meet each other on March 11 and 12.

"For the first final, 35,000 people showed up at the DY Patil Stadium, and Mumbai wasn't even playing. We saw how the stadium was full to capacity for the final of the Intercontinental Cup last year. The final of the ISL is bound to be the best domestic match-up, so people will come to watch," a source told TOI.

This is the second time that Mumbai City FC has qualified for the playoffs. The other three teams are FC Goa, Bengaluru FC and NorthEast United FC. The first ISL final was played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai where ATK had defeated Kerala Blasters with a last minute goal.
