Arsenal have finally made their first big move of the summer transfer window, bringing in Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan spell. The 22-year-old will wear former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey’s old number 8 and is likely to be joined by William Saliba before the end of the week.

Arsenal have made a slow start to the summer window with just Gabriel Martinelli their only move so far. However, as the saying goes, it’s better late than never with the Gunners completing a move for Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos according to the BBC.

The North London side have been heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old and have finally gotten the deal over the line, with him joining the club on loan for the 2019/20 season. He gets the number 8, which was recently vacated by former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey and will a creative presence that Arsenal often begged for last season.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has had a lot to say over the last few days about Ceballos, talking very highly about him. That hasn’t changed with him saying: "We're excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity, and precision."

"I knew I had the confidence of the coach, which was very important,” revealed Ceballos. “It was a tremendously proud moment when I decided to join Arsenal. The coach was the turning point in me joining this massive club. I think we’re both going to try our best to make me a better player."

The Spaniard should be joined by William Saliba, who will sign for Arsenal before returning back to Saint Etienne on loan for the 2019/20 season. Arsenal also has two failed bids in for Kieran Tierney and reportedly thinking of a third one for the Celtic star, and still maintain their interest in Wilfried Zaha.
