FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup | AIFF declares preliminary list with 35 probables

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has selected 35 junior female footballers on the preliminary list of probables for the upcoming FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup to be held in India next year. The footballers will undergo training under the guidance of former international player Alex Ambrose.

In a bid to start preparations for the upcoming FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup to be played in 2020, the hosts AIFF has selected a preliminary list of 35 probables for a camp in Goa. Ex-international Alex Ambrose is incharge of the camp which started on Thursday. Ambose was the head coach of the India U-19 team till last year. 

The players were selected after a committee meeting in Kolhapur right after the Junior Girls National Football Championship 2019-20 came to an end. Scouted players from the trials conducted in various states were also taken into consideration while naming the 35 players for the prestigious event which will be played in India for the very first time in the history of Indian football. 

Probables

Goalkeepers: Tanu, Thoudam Devi, Adrija Sarkhel, Manisha, Manju Ganju.

Defenders: Purnima Kumari, Phanjoubam Devi, Sudha Tirkey, Antrika, Kritina Devi, Nisha, Daisy Crasto, Naketa, Kamna, Vaishnavi Chandrakant.

Midfielders: Martina, Aveka Singh, Priyanka Devi, Astam Orain, Anju, Poonam, Salomi Minj, Drishti Pant, Manisha, Priyanka Sujeesh.

Forwards: Kiran, Amisha Baxla, Mariyammal, Sumati Kumari, Manisha Naik, Lynda Kom, Shilky Devi, Sai Sanke, Lalnun Siami, Karen Estrocio.

Reserve players

Goalkeepers: Anjali Barke, Anshika.

Defenders: Gia Sundaram, Lhingneilam Kipgen, Saraswati Kri, Shilpaben Thakur, Ritu, Fulmani Oran.

Midfielder: Ishita Mathew, Gladys Zonunsangi.

Forwards: Sanika Patil, Malavika P, Santoshi Kumari.
