After a mixed start to his life at Juventus, Matthijs De Ligt has admitted that he no longer feels invincible and that has caused problems for him. The 20-year-old has struggled since his summer move and was thrown to the wolves after injury problems saw Juventus without Giorgio Chiellini.

The 20-year-old signed joined Juventus from Ajax in the summer for €75 million a fee that made him the most expensive defender in Serie A history. However, that fee combined with various other issues at the club has seen the young starlet struggle to adapt and endure a mixed start to his life in Turin. While he has shown signs of why he’s considered to be one of the brightest prospects in world football, De Ligt has also struggled to keep up at times.

This has seen both fans and critics wonder if he was really ever worth all the hype that surrounded his career at Ajax but Matthijs De Ligt has admitted that he’s not happy with his performances so far either. The 20-year-old went on to admit that he’s far from happy with his performances so far and has vowed to improve before the season ends.

"At Ajax, I felt invincible, today it's different. But I think it's normal because everything is new for me. I'm progressing and I'm not worried. I don't know myself why I'm not playing as well as I'd like. All I can do is continue to work, to do my best and to try to learn from my team-mates. I play and that's the main thing because, in the end, I'm sure that everything will go well and this season will be positive,” said Matthijs De Ligt reports ESPN.
