With captain Hugo Lloris injured for the rest of the year, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Harry Kane will do well as the captain. The 26-year-old star has been wearing the armband for England over the last two years with him winning plaudits for the way he handled the racist abuse in Sofia.

The Englishman has done well since taking over the armband for England and was even named vice-captain for Tottenham with Hugo Lloris the club captain. However, in the wake of the Frenchman’s injury, Kane has been handed the armband with Lloris set to miss out the rest of 2019 after dislocating his elbow. It should be nothing new for Kane with the former Arsenal youth starlet earning plaudits for the way he handled the blatant racist abuse in Sofia.

However, Tottenham have been more reliant on the 26-year-old’s goals than his leadership but Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that it will not affect any aspect of Kane’s performances. The Argentine went on to add that while Kane is a natural leader, the 26-year-old needs to act natural and keep his cool in the face of adversity. While the Englishman did show his ability in a tense situation in Sofia things could get a little more complicated as the league season wears on.

"He does not need to feel too much pressure. He needs to act natural. The most important thing is to not show too much the responsibility on your shoulders, to act natural. When you act natural, if you are a natural leader, you don't feel the responsibility. When you do what you feel, what you feel here in your heart, it's natural," he said reports Sky Sports.

"The problem is if you need to act. If you are not a real leader and you need to act, you spend energy thinking, 'How do I need to face this problem? But if you trust in yourself and you are a natural leader, then, I promise, you don't feel the responsibility,” concluded the Argentine.
